UP SIR Draft Voter List 2026: The Election Commission has released the draft revised list for Uttar Pradesh, announcing the removal of 2.89 Crore voters after conducting the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. The poll body asserted that over 81 per cent of the voters from the previous list has been retained. It further stated that while the total number of voters in Uttar Pradesh was 15.44 crore in October 2025, when the SIR process began, it is now 12.56 crore after the revision. However, it clarified that the final list will be released on March 6 and the affected voters can object their omission till February 6.

While providing details, the poll body stated that of the total removed voters, 2.17 crore of them have moved, 49 lakh are dead and 25.47 lakh have registered themselves at more than one place. It further stated that the voters can check their status even on the phones using the ECINET app. As per the Election Commission, most of the voters were removed from the urban regions of the state, including the capital city Lucknow, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, and Prayagraj.

"Form 7 should be filled in case someone wants to remove their name from the list or if a family member has died. Form 8 should be filled if there is any incorrect information or if the voter has shifted. The first step is to check their name in the draft list published today. Voters have a period of one month to do so," Rinwa said.

"The notice phase, decision on counting forms, and disposal of claims and objections will be carried out from January 6 to February 27, 2026. The final publication of Uttar Pradesh's electoral roll will be done on March 6, 2026," he added.

The poll body was supposed to publish the draft list on December 11; however, extra 15 days was sought after it noticed that almost 3 crore voters were being removed from the list.
