The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has taken a significant step to make its online ticket booking system better and simpler for the convenience of passengers.

The UPSTRC is in the process of developing a new mobile application, through which passengers will be able to book tickets while sitting at home.

This will help lakhs of people who use the state transport service daily, and also reduce the burden on the conductors who, at present, make tickets during the journey.

The online ticketing will end the worries for both passengers and staff members to deal extensively and exclusively in cash. Apart from the online ticketing, the app will come with a feature of live location of buses, so that passengers will not have to wait for the bus.

Although the passengers can buy online tickets at present but the officials said that currently this facility is available through e-mitra, travel portals, agents, and websites.

The department is working to integrate all these services and bring a single platform so that the process can be made simple and convenient.

The existing website will also be completely upgraded by the end of this year. According to the officials, the conductors will directly get the details of the booked ticket on their passenger chart.

Recently, UPRTC has launched a mobile app named 'UPRTC Live' through which passengers can check the location of the bus in real time. This facility will be especially useful for those passengers who are worried about reaching the bus stand before time or missing the bus.

Managing Director Masoom Ali Sarwar says that this digital transformation will not only provide convenience to passengers but will also increase the transparency of services. This step will take UPRTC forward in the direction of smart services.
