Several vehicles collided on the Agra-Lucknow expressway in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao on Wednesday morning, as dense fog reduced visibility on the roads. The collision involved a bus and multiple cars, resulting in one death and over a dozen injuries. Post-crash visuals show a Toyota Fortuner SUV colliding with the rear of the bus, with a sedan subsequently hitting the Fortuner. Ambulances were immediately dispatched to the scene to attend to the injured.

The impact of the collision on the Agra-Lucknow expressway led to severe damage to the bonnet and rear of the vehicles involved. In a separate incident in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, a speeding truck collided with a house, adding to the list of fog-related accidents in the state.

In Agra, two trucks collided during the morning hours due to dense fog, with no reported casualties, and police presence at the site.

The dense fog also wreaked havoc on transportation, affecting over 110 flights at the Delhi airport as visibility dropped to a mere 50 meters, disrupting traffic movement. The weather office has issued a red alert for "very dense fog" in the national capital as cold wave conditions persist. Northern Railways reported delays for 25 trains headed to Delhi and several trains stand cancelled.

Beyond Delhi, several north Indian cities, including Patiala, Lucknow, and Prayagraj, woke up to foggy weather and low visibility. In Amritsar, visibility dropped to zero meters. The air quality in the city experienced a sharp decline after weeks of relatively good air, with the average air quality index dropping to 381, classified as "very poor."
