Earlier on Saturday, another cloudburst struck Uttarakhand in the Yamuna Valley of Uttarkashi district, causing heavy damage in Naugaon area.

Due to the cloudburst, debris buried a residential house and muddy waters of a stream entered more than half a dozen homes.

The cloudburst occurred at Syori Phal Patti in the Yamuna Valley in the evening. District Magistrate Prashant Arya said that the sludge from a flooded stream rushed downwards, inflicting damage in low-lying areas.

Soon after the cloudburst, the district administration, SDRF, and NDRF teams launched a rescue operation. The affected individuals were rescued, and no casualties were reported.

A car was also buried in the debris. A mudslide caused chaos in the Naugaon market area where people scampered for safety. It also led to the closure of Delhi-Yamunotri highway, causing traffic congestion.
