Uttarakhand Rain: At least 10 people died after torrential rains in Uttarakhand damaged the concrete bridge and footbridge on the Kedarnath route. Meanwhile, the widely famous Char Dham Yatra was temporarily halted after heavy rain caused landslides, flooding, and widespread damage in the state. "All the routes of Chardham are open, only the footpath in Kedarnath has been obstructed. 100 other routes are obstructed; efforts are being made continuously to open them", the State Disaster Secretary was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a review meeting with officials at the State Emergency Operation Centre on Thursday morning to take stock of rescue and relief operations in areas affected by the rainfall.

- During the review meeting, CM Dhami said that rescue teams have been active throughout the night, relocating people to safer areas following heavy rainfall.
- "We received information about the disruption of life in many areas across the state. Consequently, rescue teams worked through the night to move people to safer locations," CM Dhami was quoted as saying by ANI.
- CM Dhami also assured that he is maintaining constant communication with the local administration. He also directed the NDRF and SDRF teams to remain on high alert.
- Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the Uttarakhand CM shared pictures of the meeting and wrote, “All officers should keep in mind that whatever funds are required for evacuating people from sensitive areas to safe places, relief and rescue operations, reconstruction and rehabilitation from security point of view, will be sanctioned by the government immediately. The safety of the people of the state is our priority and every possible effort will be made for this.”

- Amid forecasts of heavy rainfall across the state, the Uttarakhand government has issued a safety advisory for Chardham Yatra pilgrims and urged the devotees to delay their journeys until weather conditions improve.
- The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a heavy rainfall alert in Uttarakhand for the next five days. A red alert has also been issued amid a cloudburst incident in Kedarnath.
- Earlier, two people were found dead and another sustained injury after they went missing following a cloudburst at Jakhanyali in the Ghansali area of Tehri Garhwal district. The deceased were identified as 50-year-old Bhanu Prasad and 45-year-old Anita Devi.

- Following heavy rainfall in the state, the water level of river Ganga has also increased in Rishikesh and came 20 meters above the warning line, as reported by Jagran.com.
- The police team has also alerted people present in the nearby coastal areas of Ganga, including the Triveni Ghat. The water level of Ganga in Rishikesh was recorded at 339.70 meters at 8:00 am on Thursday.
