In a display of knowledge and awareness, the team from Uttarakhand secured the first prize in the Regional Red Ribbon Quiz Competition held on September 22, 2025, at the PWD Rest House, Sector-1, Panchkula. The event was organised under the guidance of Dr Sukhvir Singh Mahlla, Project Director of the Haryana State AIDS Control Society.
The competition saw participation from nine states: Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand. Each state was represented by its winning team, competing to promote awareness about HIV/AIDS and other health issues.
The quiz concluded with Punjab winning the second prize, Haryana taking the third position, and Delhi receiving a consolation prize. The event, which was inaugurated by Dr Manish Bansal, Director General of Health Services, Haryana, also included an open quiz for approximately 300 students, as well as Rangoli and Poster making competitions. The judging panel for the regional quiz included Dr Sushil Mahi, Prof. (Dr) Alka Sharma and Dr Arya.
The jury members were Dr Rajiv Batish and Joginder Lather. Ram Kumar Sharma, Joint Director (IEC), was in charge of the event. The competition successfully brought together students and officials to reinforce the importance of health education and social responsibility.
