VANDE Bharat Express, India’s first semi-highspeed train which was earlier known as Train 18 at the beginning has been giving tough competition to all other trains in terms of providing high speed and safety to the passengers.

The first Vande Bharat Express train which was launched on February 15, is operating on the New Delhi- Varanasi route. The country has as many as 10 Vande Bharat Express trains which are operating across the country and connecting 17 states and 108 districts across the nation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off two new Vande Bharat Express trains from Mumbai to Sai Nagar Shirdi and from Mumbai to Solapur on February 10, 2022. Since then thousands of passengers are travelling on these trains every day.

The indigenously designed train marks a new era in the world of travel technology and is currently running on 10 routes in India.

Vande Bharat Express trains are important due to safety reasons as these trains have armour technology. This technology helps in preventing accidents like the collision of trains on railway tracks. The executive coach also has the option of 180-degree swivel seats in addition to reclining seats.

The Vande Bharat Express trains also have a GPS-based audio-visual passenger information system, onboard hotspot Wi-Fi for entertainment purposes and comfortable reclining seats.

Vande Bharat Express Train runs from New Delhi to Banaras five days a week. The train leaves New Delhi at 6 am and reaches Banaras by 2 pm.

The Delhi to Katra (Jammu and Kashmir) Vande Bharat Express train was inaugurated by Home Minister Amit Shah on October 3, 2019. The train runs six days a week except for Tuesday. It leaves New Delhi at 6 am  in the morning and reaches Katra by 3 in the afternoon.
