Vande Bharat Sleeper Launch News: Good news for rail passengers! Indian Railways is all set to roll out the country’s first Vande Bharat Sleeper train this September, promising to make long-distance overnight travel faster and more comfortable. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed the launch timeline during an event in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, on Sunday.
Built by BEML using Integral Coach Factory (ICF) technology, this sleeper variant of the semi-high-speed Vande Bharat train is expected to redefine train journeys for passengers across India.
“Vande Sleeper is coming very soon—in September,” said Vaishnaw, adding that the new sleeper train, along with other services like Namo Bharat, Amrit Bharat, and Vande Bharat, would play a crucial role in modernising India’s railway infrastructure, as per the Indian Express.

During the same event, he also flagged off three new trains: the Bhavnagar Terminus–Ayodhya Cantt Express, the Rewa–Pune Express, and a new service from Jabalpur to Raipur.
The Vande Bharat Sleeper train is designed with several passenger-friendly features. Each coach will have reading lights with USB charging ports, advanced public announcement and visual info systems, onboard display panels, and surveillance cameras for added safety. The train will also have modular pantries and dedicated berths and toilets for differently-abled passengers. Notably, the First AC class will include shower facilities with hot water, an upgrade aimed at boosting comfort for overnight travellers.
