A deleted X post by Aadhav Arjuna, general secretary of the Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has triggered a controversy after he urged a “Gen Z protest” in Tamil Nadu against the “wicked ruler,” drawing parallels with a similar movement by young Nepalis earlier this month.
Leaders of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) have demanded his arrest for allegedly inciting violence against the state’s established systems. The timing of his post has also been questioned, as it came just days after the Karur stampede at a TVK rally that killed 41 people and injured several others.
Aadhav Arjuna, in a post in Tamil, said, "A youth-led revolution is the only solution. Just as the youth and 'Gen Z' revolted in Sri Lanka and Nepal against the ruling government, an uprising of youth will also happen here."
He said that the impending revolution would bring about a change in government, adding, “Under a wicked ruler, even the laws become wicked.” He also accused the Tamil Nadu police of assaulting people “simply for walking on the road” and arresting them “for expressing opinions on social media.”
DMK Women’s Wing Social Media Coordinator Yazhini PM alleged that he has been repeatedly inciting young people, who have their whole lives ahead of them, against the administration and the police. In a post on X, she further claimed that the Karur stampede was deliberately orchestrated by Arjuna and TVK chief Vijay.
Government must initiate draconian measures against the "Cyber Terrorist" @AadhavArjuna immediately as possible.

“The government must initiate draconian measures against the “Cyber Terrorist” Aadhav Arjuna immediately as possible,” she wrote on X.
Later, Arjuna posted a condolence message on X. “These deaths are an irreparable loss for every affected family. My heart is not in a state to move past the loss and pain these families are enduring, as an ordinary human being would. I solemnly declare, as someone who understood the pain of death at a young age, that my life’s journey will be as a brother, a younger sibling, a son, and a relative carrying the dreams and hopes of those families. In this moment, when sorrow and grief alone envelop my heart, I share my thoughts as a relation to those who have faced these losses,” he wrote.
