Delhiites continue to reel under scorching heat with temperatures consistently billowing above 45 degrees Celsius for the last few days. A fresh spell of heatwave is active across the national capital and several other areas in northern India. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the heatwave is expected to continue for the next 5 days in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, and Odisha.
For the past three days, a heatwave condition is prevailing in Delhi. According to the weather department, there will be no relief from the extreme heat and heatwave for another week. Therefore, the department has issued an orange alert for Wednesday and a yellow alert from Thursday to Monday. Residents of Delhi have been advised to stay cautious.
The weather forecast indicates that hot winds will continue on Wednesday as well. During this period, the maximum temperature could reach 45 degrees Celsius, while the minimum could be around 29 degrees Celsius. In the evening, dust-laden winds are expected to blow in some regions.
Red alert in Bihar:
The intense heat and heatwave will continue for the next four days in Bihar, including the capital city Patna. A heatwave warning has been issued by the weather department for Patna, Gaya, Saran, Rohtas, Sheikhpura, Gopalganj, and Vaishali. Additionally, a red alert has been issued for a severe heatwave in six districts of the state: Buxar, Bhojpur, Aurangabad, Nawada, Siwan, and Arwal. One or two places in the northwest, north-central, and southern parts are likely to experience humid days.
Rain Likely In MP, Tamil Nadu And Karnataka:
Moderate to heavy rain is expected in the next 24 hours in South Konkan and Goa, South Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, and Northern Interior Karnataka. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Sikkim, and parts of Western Assam may experience light to moderate rain with heavy rainfall at some places.
Light to moderate rain is possible in Vidarbha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Southern Chhattisgarh, and Southern Gujarat. Light rain may occur in Madhya Pradesh, Southern Gujarat, and Southeastern Rajasthan.
