- IMD predicts heavy rain in many parts of India.

Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several parts of the country will continue to witness light to heavy rainfall on Monday. As per the weather department, heavy rain is expected in parts of North, East, Central, and Northeast India. Along with this, thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by strong winds are also expected in many regions. However, the monsoon is expected to remain weak, and the weather will remain mostly dry in Rajasthan in the coming days.
Heavy Rain In These States
While providing details, the IMD stated that heavy rain is likely in parts of several states, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, and Sikkim. It further asserted that thunderstorms with strong winds are also expected in some parts of Odisha and western Madhya Pradesh.
The weather department, in its advisory, stated that the monsoon is expected to remain active in the Himalayan states in the coming days. It asserted that multiple regions of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are expected to receive heavy rain over the next few days. The continuous rain in these states has claimed several lives and also caused significant damage to the infrastructure.

North India Weather Update
A heavy rain alert has also been issued for eastern Uttar Pradesh, while Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, and western parts of Uttar Pradesh are expected to receive occasional rains throughout the week. While the fresh rainfall has provided relief from the heat, the temperature is further likely to increase with the weakening of the monsoon.
The weather department has also stated that heavy rain is likely over the coastal regions of Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and Lakshadweep. The fishermen of these regions have been advised to follow the guidelines and limit their financial activities during the rain to avoid inconveniences.
