Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the temperature in several northern states is likely to drop by two to four degrees Celsius in the upcoming days. The weather conditions in multiple states, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, are likely to change due to the continuous snowfall in the hilly states. The residents of these states are also likely to experience cold waves and poor visibility, leading to the inconveniences. Apart from this, the weather department further stated that the southern and western states are also likely to witness light to moderate rainfall.

Dense Fog Engulfs UP-Punjab

The weather department stated that the residents of Punjab, Bihar, eastern Uttar Pradesh, and western Madhya Pradesh witnessed dense fog, especially in the early hours. However, it stated that the temperature in other parts, including central India, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, is expected to slightly increase in the next 2-3 days. The IMD stated that the cold wave is likely to cause inconveniences to the residents of the northern states, further advising them to limit their outings in the early hours.

Rain Alert For Kerala, Tamil Nadu

The IMD stated that several southern states, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka, are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. Along with the rainfall, the coastal regions are also set to experience thunderstorms and gusty winds. The continuous rainfall is likely to lead to waterlogging in several key cities, including Bengaluru and Chennai, leading to inconvenience to the commuters.

The fishermen are advised to maintain a distance from the water bodies during this period of time. Several parts of the northeastern states, such as Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram, are also set to receive light rainfall.
