Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several states are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall in the upcoming days. The residents of Delhi and nearby cities experienced heavy rain, along with thunderstorms and strong surface wind, providing relief from the scorching heat. The temperature in the national capital dropped by five to seven degrees Celsius. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and plan their days accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.
Delhi-NCR: IMD Issues Rain Alert
Along with the national capital, the weather department has also issued an orange alert for other cities, including Ghaziabad, Noida, and Gurugram. It asserted that there is a high possibility of light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by light thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds at speeds of 40–50 km/h. The residents have been advised to stay indoors and limit their outings, especially during the rain.

Rain Likely In Punjab, Haryana
The weather department stated that several districts of Haryana, including Charkhi Dadri, Jhajjar, Rohtak, and Sonipat, are set to witness rain, along with lightning and strong surface winds. It further stated that several districts in Punjab are expected to experience partly cloudy skies with thunderstorms, light rain, or dust storms at least till April 20.
The IMD stated that the residents of Bihar are set to witness light rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning for the next two to three days. The temperature across the state is likely to remain between 37 and 41 degrees Celsius. The weather department has advised the farmers to protect their crops and not hide beneath any big tree and electricity pole.
Along with these states, several southern states, including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Keralam, are also likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days.
