Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the continuous snowfall in the hilly states will lead to a significant drop in temperature in the northern states. The weather department also stated that the northern states are also set to witness fog and cold waves, especially in the morning hours. It asserted that the coastal regions of the southern states are expected to witness light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming days. The continuous rainfall is likely to lead to issues like waterlogging and power outages in multiple regions. The IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid inconveniences.
Temp To Drop In UP, Bihar
The weather department stated that the northern states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana, are likely to witness a sharp drop in temperature in the upcoming days. It stated that the minimum temperature in the night hours in these states has already reached below 10 degrees Celsius, leading to inconveniences for the residents. The IMD also stated that these states are set to experience fog and cold waves in the morning hours.

Snowfall To Continue In J-K, Himachal
The IMD stated that the upper regions of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh have been witnessing snowfall for the past few days, bringing the temperature below ten degrees Celsius in the northern states. However, the snowfall has also been accompanied by sunshine, attracting a surge of tourists to these areas. The weather department clarified that the snowfall is likely to continue in these regions.
Rain Likely In Southern States
The coastal regions of the southern states, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, are likely to witness light to moderate rain. Along with the rain, these regions are also expected to receive thunderstorms and lightning. The IMD has advised the fishermen to maintain a distance from the water bodies for the next few days.
