Weather Update: IMD Issues Rain Alert For Tamil Nadu, Kerala; Temperature To Drop In UP, Punjab

Weather Update: The minimum temperature in several northern states, including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh, is significantly likely to drop in the upcoming days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that the residents of Delhi-NCR are also expected to witness a drop in temperature and cold wave amid worsened air quality. The hilly states, including Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, have been witnessing snowfall in the past few days, leading to temperatures below zero degrees Celsius. The weather department also stated that the southern states are likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall at least till November 28. It further advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

Delhi-NCR To Witness Drop In Temperature

The weather department stated that the Delhi-NCR is expected to witness a sudden drop in temperature in the upcoming week. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 25 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to go below 10 degrees Celsius. The capital city also witnesses winds at speeds of 20 to 25 km per hour, especially in the early hours. However, the residents are not likely to get relief from the worsened air quality in the coming days.

UP Districts To Experience Cold Wave

The IMD stated several districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Agra, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Aligarh, are likely to witness a sharp drop in temperature on November 24. Apart from this, the western districts are set to experience a cold wave in the early hours, leading to inconveniences. The weather department has advised the farmers to protect their crops.

Rain Likely In Southern States

The IMD stated that several southern states, such as Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Telangana, are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming days. Along with the heavy rain, the coastal regions are also set to receive thunderstorms and gusty winds.
