After reaching full potential, the monsoon is crossing a turning point where heavy rain is likely to continue in some parts of the country, while in the parts the monsoon activity has taken a break, resulting in humidity and increased temperatures. The weather conditions across the country are likely to bring a combination of torrential rain, showers and humid days on Sunday and over the coming days.
Rain In Delhi-NCR And UP
Heavy rainfall has been pounding Delhi and Uttar Pradesh since last night. Several areas in Delhi have witnessed severe waterlogging, causing vehicles to get stuck in some places. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in Delhi-NCR and surrounding areas for the next one to two days.

Orange Alert In Districts Of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh
A fresh wave of monsoon showers is set to lash several parts of North India, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing an orange alert for Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Sunday. The alert indicates heavy to very heavy rainfall in these regions, potentially causing disruptions.
Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall warning for several states on August 3, including:
- Delhi-NCR: Torrential rain expected
- Rajasthan: Heavy showers predicted
- Haryana: Significant rainfall anticipated

- Uttar Pradesh: Maha Munsoon showers expected
- Madhya Pradesh: Heavy rainfall forecast
- Bihar: Extremely heavy rainfall possible, especially in northern districts
- Jharkhand: Heavy rain warning issued
Northeast India Under Alert
The IMD forecasts heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in Northeast India and surrounding areas over the next 7 days. Specific regions under alert include ¹:
- Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim: Weighty rainfall on August 3-4
- Meghalaya: Extremely heavy rainfall on August 3-4
- Arunachal Pradesh: Extremely heavy rainfall on August 3-4
- Bihar: Hefty rainfall on August 3-4
Areas receiving water from rivers originating in Himachal Pradesh can face heavy rainfall due to the movement of the monsoon trough to the North. Bihar is likely to witness a flood-like situation if the anticipated activity takes place.
