Weather Update: As the monsoon season sweeps across India, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for July 28, predicting the possibility of extremely heavy showers in Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. In addition, an orange alert warning has been issued for Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Maharashtra, signaling the likelihood of heavy downpours in these regions.

Himachal: Heavy Rain In Shimla And THESE Districts

The Himachal Pradesh capital, Shimla, has received a fresh wave of wet weather after experiencing a weak monsoon earlier this year. The IMD forecasts more rainfall in the state until July 30, with light to moderate showers, thunderstorms and lightning expected in districts such as Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Mandi, Kangra, Kullu, Solan and Shimla. The possibility of light rainfall has also been hinted at for Sirmaur, Chamba, Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti districts.

'Extremely heavy rainfall' Likely In MP, Goa And Maharashtra

Additionally, the IMD has predicted "extremely heavy rainfall" over Gujarat for July 28. Very heavy rainfall is also expected in Madhya Pradesh on July 31, Goa and Maharashtra on July 28 and Gujarat on July 28 and 29.

Heavy Rain In Delhi, HP, Haryana Until July 31

In northwest India, the weather agency has forecast isolated very heavy rainfall over Uttarakhand on July 30 and 31 and in East Rajasthan on July 28. Additionally, heavy rainfall is likely in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi until July 31, while Jammu-Kashmir and Punjab are set to experience downpours on July 30 and 31.

Rain Forecasted In TN, Puducherry

Furthermore, very heavy rainfall is expected in isolated places over Kerala and Mahe on July 28 and Coastal Karnataka on the same day. Heavy rainfall is also forecast for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka until July 30 and in Kerala on July 29 and 30.
