West Bengal Government: The Bharaitya Janata Party (BJP) has formed its government for the first time in West Bengal after ending the 15-year rule of the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC). Suvendu Adhikari, who defeated Banerjee in Bhabanipur, took oath as the chief minister on Saturday. Several prominent BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, party president Nitin Nabin, and UP CM Yogi Adityanath, remained present at this historic moment for the party.

Key Challenges For BJP In Bengal:

- Managing post-poll violence: The first and immediate challenge for the Suvendu Adhikari-led BJP government in Bengal would be to stop the post-poll violence in the state. The violence reports have emerged from several districts, including Kolkata, Murshidabad, and North 24 Paragana.

- Industrialisation: The BJP raised the issue of joblessness across the state, blaming the left and TMC for not creating a business-friendly environment. The Saffron Party promised that it will re-establish Bengal as an industrial hub if elected to power.

- Law and Order: The high-profile cases, including the RG Kar medical college and Sandeshkhali rape cases, rocked the state and raised questions on the functioning of the Bengal police. A major challenge for the BJP government will be to deal with these high-profile cases.

- Maintaining Harmony: West Bengal is a very diversified state with people from all the communities living in the cities, especially in Kolkata. With the BJP in power, one of the major challenges would be to maintain the communal harmony in Bengal.

- Integrating schemes: One of the major challenges before the Suvendu Adhikari-led government would be to integrate the central and state schemes. The TMC government often accused the centre of delaying the fund generation; however, the NDA government denied those allegations.
