Amid concerns over rising flight ticket prices, a post has gone viral in which a techie was surprised to see the cost of flight tickets from Delhi to Bengaluru. She further compared the price to that of 2022, adding that the price has witnessed an unbelievable surge in the last two years. She was also curious to know how the residents of these cities are coping with the ticket prices.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), techie Khushboo Verma pointed out the issue of high flight tickets, wondering why it is not a matter of big concern already. "When I moved from Delhi to Bengaluru in 2022, my flight ticket cost around INR 3.5k. Today, the same one-way route is costing me INR 8.5K, even if I book 2 weeks in advance," she stated.

"What is this inflation? And why is no one doing anything about it? How are people affording it?" she added. The post immediately went viral on the social media platform, getting multiple likes, shares, and comments.

Many users shared their similar experiences in the reply, adding that no one is there to take note of the matter. While several of the netizens criticised policymakers for the high prices, others tried to justify it by pointing out the unstable oil prices and fewer numbers of airlines.

"Virtually only two carriers resulting in high fares. Also, because of expansion into Tier II cities, cross charge for metro routes. Oil price is the third factor. While as a customer, I have issues, these are some logical factors contributing to this," one of the users stated.

"Probably many working on this, but the industry is overloaded with regulations. Makes it difficult for competition to survive, hence duopoly is enjoying the current high demand from domestic market without anyone to challenge them with lower prices," another user pointed out."At least you are going from Delhi, just search from Jabalpur, it's already 10k+ for the next 2 weeks," third one added.
