Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has been deported from the United States and is expected to land at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) today. Anmol, a key conspirator in several high-profile incidents, including the conspiracy of the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique and the firing outside actor Salman Khan's residence, is wanted in over 18 criminal cases.
This was a multi-agency operation, and upon his arrival in India, an official said that the Mumbai Police would seek Anmol Bishnoi's custody to investigate his involvement in the cases registered there.
Who Is Anmol Bishnoi?
Anmol Bishnoi is a part of the Lawrence Bishnoi global criminal syndicate, which continues to operate globally despite Lawrence Bishnoi's incarceration in Sabarmati Central Jail in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
The National Investigation Agency and other agencies believe that Lawrence’s gang has links to pro-Khalistan groups, including the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and Anmol, along with gangster Goldy Brar help manage overseas operations, Hindustan Times reported.
Salman Khan Residence Firing
Anmol publicly claimed the responsibility for the firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence in April 2024. Following his claim, the Mumbai Police issued a Lookout Circular against him.
Accused Of Baba Siddique Murder And Other High Profile Cases
According to the investigation, Anmol was involved in the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique. He was in touch with Siddique's shooters using the communication platform Snapchat. The NCP leader was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan’s office building in Bandra East in 2024.
Known as Bhanu, Anmol was also involved in ordering a hit on singer Sidhu Moose Wala in May 2022.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, a senior official from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) stated that Anmol served as Lawrence Bishnoi's principal overseas handler. He was responsible for directing the syndicate's overseas operations, including running extortion rackets, issuing threats, and coordinating criminal assignments using various encrypted communication channels.
