Bengaluru News: Bengaluru Police have arrested a 25-year-old man for posting a provocative video on Instagram, in which he asked why no bombs were falling on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence. The video, shared during rising tensions between India and Pakistan, gained wide attention on social media.

The man has been identified as F Nawaz, a technician originally from Electronic City. He was staying in a paying guest facility in Bandepalya, located in southeast Bengaluru, for easier access to his customers. He repairs air conditioners, refrigerators and other appliances for a living, as per Times Of India report.

According to the police, Nawaz questioned in the video why bombs were not falling on PM Modi’s house amid India-Pakistan tensions. In the viral video he asked “Why are no bombs falling on Modi’s house during the India-Pakistan fight? Why is the general public put to hardship? First, bomb Modi’s house. I am not saying anything with bad intention nor saying Modi should be killed. The public is looking after themselves. Modi is creating nuisance by introducing different taxes. During fights between big people, it is the small people who suffer.I am not afraid to tell you this.”

A suo motu case was registered by Bandepalya Police after the video went viral and triggered concerns. Nawaz has been charged under sections 152 and 196 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deal with actions threatening the sovereignty of the country and promoting enmity between groups. He has also been booked under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.

After his arrest, Nawaz was produced before a court and sent to judicial custody at Parappana Agrahara Central Jail. Joint Commissioner (East) Ramesh Baanoth confirmed the arrest and the charges against him.

During the investigation, it was also found that Nawaz has a pending NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) case in Tumakuru. The police are currently investigating the case.
