In a decisive turn for the investigation into the Hazaribagh land scam and related money laundering cases, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted simultaneous raids at two separate locations at approximately 4:00 am this morning.
Search For Absconding Accused
The primary objective of the operation was to locate Snigdha Singh (wife of Vinay Singh), who remains absconding. The ACB’s technical cell executed the raids following several days of intense digital surveillance and location tracking. While Snigdha Singh managed to escape from both locations prior to the team's arrival, the agency is actively continuing the search. A senior ACB official stated that today's action marks a significant shift in the investigation and that several major revelations are expected in the coming days.
Raid Locations
The simultaneous raids targeted two specific high-profile locations:
Vasant Vihar: A newly purchased luxury property located at C-24.
Official Residence: The government accommodation of a Joint Secretary of the Government of India (Indian Postal Service).
Key Developments And The "Chaubey Connection"
A significant link to former IAS officer Vinay Chaubey has emerged in the money trail.
Benami Property: Evidence seized suggests the C-24 property in Vasant Vihar was being used as a benami (unaccounted) asset.
Money Laundering: Preliminary investigations indicate that illicit earnings linked to Vinay Chaubey were being laundered through this specific property.

Detention And Seizures
While Snigdha Singh remains at large, her son, Sanat Singh, was present at one of the locations.
Status Of Sanat Singh: He has been detained for questioning but has not been arrested. Reports indicate he is fully cooperating with the investigation. He has provided crucial intelligence regarding:
- His mother’s current whereabouts.
- The complex relationship between Vinay Chaubey, Vinay Singh, and Snigdha Singh.
- The methods used for financial transactions.
Recovered Items: The ACB seized several mobile phones, laptops and other digital devices during the search.
Future Outlook
Based on the evidence from today's raids and the interrogation of Sanat Singh, the ACB expects major breakthroughs in:
- Uncovering the full conspiracy behind the Hazaribagh land scam.
- Tracing the money trail associated with the excise scam.
- Identifying the complete network of Vinay Chaubey's benami properties.
- Establishing a full accounting of the money laundering operations.
