Habits For Healthy Gum

Brush Before Bed

To keep your health in check, health professionals recommend cleaning your teeth twice a day. A very beneficial practice that helps get rid of bacteria, germs, and plaque that build up in the mouth during the day is brushing your teeth just before bed.

Brush Properly

There is no denying that we all brush our teeth, but the way we brush is also integral to oral hygiene. The way we brush our teeth plays a vital role in maintaining overall oral health. One should take enough time to move the toothbrush in gentle, circular motions to remove plaque as unremoved plaque can harden, leading to calculus buildup and gingivitis (early gum disease).

Flossing

Another crucial oral hygiene procedure is flossing, which cleans and loosens food particles trapped between teeth to lessen plaque and germs in the mouth. Typically, people forget to floss because they believe it to be a little inconvenient. Flossing is a crucial practice that improves gum health, reduces plaque buildup, and soothes localised inflammation.

Use Mouthwash

You use mouthwash, sometimes referred to as oral rinse, to rinse your mouth, teeth, and gums. It has an antiseptic in it that helps destroy any dangerous germs that could be growing on your gums and teeth. Mouthwash aids in remineralizing teeth, cleansing the region between and around the gums, and lowering the amount of acid in the mouth.

Hydration

Water acts as a great mouth cleanser as it washes away the leftover food and residue that can cause numerous dental problems. We should drink adequate amounts of water after every meal as it helps to wash out some of the negative effects of sticky and acidic foods and beverages in between brushes.
