Ayurveda is an ancient medicinal system that is based on the treatment of balancing the three doshas. Ayurveda skin care includes facials, serums, facial masks, and herbal formulations to benefit the skin. The common skin issues include acne, pimples, scars, breakouts, and redness among others.

Ayurveda believes that acne can result due to the imbalance of vata, pitta, and kapha dosha. Ayurvedic skin care treatments are based on skin type. People with high pitta tend to have oily skin that may be prone to acne and rosacea. Here are some effective ayurvedic remedies that can treat acne, breakouts, and other skincare conditions.

1. Turmeric And Mint Leaves

Turmeric and mint leaves have medicinal properties which help in rapid cell turnover and treat acne, breakouts, scars, and more. Both these ingredients are induced with antioxidants, antimicrobial and antibacterial properties that make them an integral part of any skincare regimen. To make this face mask, you simply need to take some mint leaves with a few drops of water and add a pinch of turmeric powder to it. Mix it well and apply it on your face evenly. Let it dry for around 10-15 minutes and wash with lukewarm water.

2. Honey And Lemon Juice

Honey and lemon are other beneficial kitchen ingredients that can be used for skin care. They are amongst the most popular and beneficial skin care methods in Ayurveda. To make this paste, add equal amounts of honey and lemon juice in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Apply this paste evenly on your face and let it dry for around 5-10 minutes. Wash off with normal water and moisturise your skin.

3. Sesame Seeds

Sesame seeds are a good source of healthy fats, protein, B vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants, and other beneficial plant compounds, which not only benefit the body but also have magical effects on your skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties which help in skin healing, reduce the redness on the face caused by inflammation, and promote glowing skin.

4. Neem Leaves

Neem leaves are known to soothe skin and prevent acne. They have great amounts of antioxidants, moisturising triglycerides, and vitamin E which make them an excellent skincare ingredient. Take some fresh neem leaves, grind them into a fine paste, and apply them to your face evenly.

5. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is one of the most effective skin care ingredients used to treat several skin conditions. It helps soothe sunburn, treats inflammation, fights skin ageing, and adds glow to the skin. This popular vitamin-rich plant is safe to use for varied skincare conditions.
