BEING IN a relationship with someone you love is nothing less than being in luck. Romantic relationships comprise one of the most meaningful aspects of our life. We tend to put all our efforts to make that love relationship work. However, sometimes we put effort despite being aware that it may not work. A relationship failure can happen due to various reasons such as cheating, over-protectiveness, trust issues, insecurities and many more. But one major reason is red flags. People often tend to ignore the red flag in a romantic relationship despite knowing that it can harm their emotional and mental well-being and can be one of the reasons for breakups.

According to a study conducted by University College London, when in love, the human brain reacts differently to the negative characteristics of a person. It decreases our social judgment capacity and makes us focus only on the positive attributes of a person. The research suggests that both romantic and maternal love can make us blind emotionally and lower the chance of assessing someone critically. Therefore, we bring you some important signs or red flags that you should never ignore in a relationship.

1. Invasion Of Privacy

Showing care towards your partner is one thing, but being overprotective and invading their privacy is one of the most ignored red flags of relationships. In situations where your partner doesn't trusts you and wants to know your whereabouts continuously which makes you feel uncomfortable is a sign you should not miss.

2. Dwelling In The Past

Everyone has a past. But if your partner religiously thinks and talks about their ex with you, then you need to be alert. It can be good to talk to your partner about your ex occasionally, but speaking about them every time might mean that they are still not over them.

3. Body Shaming

All people have their flaws and flexes. No one in the world has the right or authority to question your worth or judge your body. Bod shaming your partner in ways that can hurt them is a red flag, be it intentional or subtle. If your partner is telling you to cut your food intake to lose weight, such remarks should never be taken casually.

4. Being Emotionally Unavailable

Effective communication and strong bond are major parts of a healthy relationship. However, if your partner doesn't have time to listen to your issues or problems, then this might indicate that they might not be interested in you.

5. Criticise

Does your partner criticise you for everything and anything? This is one of the biggest red flags of a romantic relationship. If your partner continuously criticises you for the smallest things, then there is something that you need to do about it.
