Easter 2024: The occasion of Easter is here and the celebrations are in full swing. Easter, which honours the resurrection of Jesus from the grave, is also known by other names, such as Pascha or Resurrection Sunday. Easter will be observed on April 9th worldwide this year. The Bible's sacred book claims that on Easter Sunday, Jesus Christ was resurrected from the grave. Every year, Easter falls on a different day, generally between March 21 and April 25, which is determined by the timing of the full moon in spring. Easter is being observed on March 31 this year.
What Is Easter Bunny?
The Easter Bunny is a folklore figure and emblem of the holiday. It is said to have originated in Pennsylvania in the 1700s with German immigrants, who brought with them the custom of an egg-laying hare known as 'Osterhase' or 'Oschter Haws.' Their offspring fashioned nests where the creature could deposit its colourful eggs.
Easter Eggs
Eggs represent rebirth and life. Since ancient times, eggs have been a staple of Easter celebrations. A particular delight on Easter Sunday was known to be digging into an egg since eating eggs was outlawed throughout Lent (the 40 days leading up to Easter) in the mediaeval era.
Easter eggs are believed by Christians to symbolise Jesus' ascension from the dead and resurrection. Easter egg decorating is a practice that goes back at least to the thirteenth century.
