ONE OF the best-known leaders among all those who actively battled for social justice throughout their lives was Babasaheb Ambedkar, also known as Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. In addition to all of this, he was a politician, philosopher, distinguished lawyer, anthropologist, historian, economist, and more.

Dr. Ambedkar graduated from Bombay University and thereafter attended the London School of Economics and Columbia University in the US. He was the country's first autonomous minister of law. Equal rights and knowledge are also celebrated on the day that honours Ambedkar. It's interesting to note that he was also credited with creating the Indian Constitution.

Every year on April 14th, people commemorate Dr. BR Ambedkar's birth day in honour of his contributions to the development of the nation. In real life, Dr. BR Ambedkar battled against caste prejudice and promoted equal rights for Dalits and other socially disadvantaged groups. A lot of people are unaware of the fact that Dr. BR Ambedkar was a Dalit by birth.

Also, Dr. BR Ambedkar joined a lifelong battle for equality after growing up witnessing the oppression and exploitation of his society. Ambedkar served as the Indian Constitution's first law minister and as its chairman. He pushed for reservations in the poorest areas of the country.
