Lip balms, an important makeup essential are a trusted remedy for dry and chapped lips. However, with the growing desire for a rosy, flushed complexion, lip and cheek stains have become increasingly popular. These products not only hydrate and pigment the lips but also add a touch of colour to the cheeks. Rose, in particular, has been prized for its exceptional qualities as its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties help to soothe and calm the skin while its subtle, sweet fragrance leaves a lasting impression. With its numerous benefits, rose has become a staple ingredient in many lip care products. Instead of relying on commercial products, you can create your own rose lip balm using just three simple ingredients to make your lips soft and luscious.

Steps To Create Rose Lip Balm

Gather Your Ingredients

You’ll need fresh rose petals (a handful), 1 tbsp of coconut oil, 1 tbsp of beeswax pellets and a few drops of rose essential oil. These natural ingredients help moisturise, heal and add a soft tint to your lips.

Prepare The Rose Infusion

Gently rinse the rose petals and pat them dry. In a small pan, heat the coconut oil on low and add the petals. Let them simmer for 10–15 minutes until the oil takes on a rosy hue and fragrance. Strain the petals out.

How To Store Your Lip Balm Right?

To maintain the potency and freshness of your homemade rose lip balm, store the balm in a cool, dry place, shielded from direct sunlight. When applying, use clean fingers or a spatula to prevent contamination. Avoid exposing the balm to heat sources as it may melt or separate.
