Tips To Prevent Neckline Wrinkles: With age, people face several age-related issues and one of the most common is wrinkles. Wrinkles often occur in the areas of the skin that are exposed to the sun such as the face, neck, hands and forearm. Like every other wrinkle, neckline wrinkle is a part of the ageing process. Men as well as women experience visible fine lines on the skin of the neck. Women typically start to show horizontal or vertical lines as soon as they pass the age of 40 years. Although there are several cosmetic procedures, neck wrinkles can be avoided and prevented with a basic skincare regime.

Neck wrinkles or neckline wrinkles as the name suggests are fine lines that occur in the areas of the neck. Neckline wrinkles like any other wrinkles are caused due to loss of skin elasticity and collagen and can be exacerbated by factors like sun damage, smoking and poor posture. However, you can prevent the occurrence of neckline wrinkles with some tweaks in your lifestyle routine.

Preventive Tips For Neckline Wrinkles

Salicylic Or Glycolic Acid

To prevent neck wrinkles, apply glycolic or salicylic acid on your neck at least twice a week before bedtime. The exfoliant properties in these acids help repair the skin during night’s sleep. With consistent application, one can get a smoother, younger-looking complexion without sun exposure. However, before using these acids, make use of a moisturiser that will act as an active skin barrier.

Retinoid

Retinoids are potent substances that are effective in reducing wrinkles and fine lines with the production of collagen. Retinol increases skin longevity and minimises fine lines and wrinkles by promoting cell turnover and encouraging the shedding of old, damaged skin. This should  increase cell turnover and shedding off the old, damaged skin. This should be applied at night and it is sensitive to UV rays.

Apply Moisturiser

Even though Hyaluronic acid minimises the appearance of wrinkles, it should always be applied along with a moisturiser, especially at night. The mix of Hyaluronic acid and moisturiser prevents inflammation, promotes the development of collagen and keeps the skin hydrated. These factors strengthen the anti-ageing benefits and give a smoother and younger look to the skin.

Change In Diet

Incorporate the inclusion of antioxidant-rich foods like sweet potatoes, carrots, spinach, citrus fruits, and berries that can protect the skin from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. You can also start eating foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids that is found in walnuts and flaxseeds to help with inflammation and to keep the skin hydrated. Eat fruits and vegetables that are high in vitamins C, A, and E. Also consume enough protein to support the healing of the tissues and collagen synthesis.
