International Cat Day 2023: Just as there are dog lovers, there are millions of people across the globe who adore cats. International Cat Day is a global celebration of cats as pet friends. The International Cat Day is observed every year on August 8 to create awareness about the caring and protection of these little beings.

Cats are referred to as the most adorable species on the Earth along with dogs. This special occasion serves as a reminder of the unbreakable bond between humans and animals, especially cats. The playful antics of cats have earned great appreciation and a special place in history. We all must have seen those funny and aww-adorable videos of cats on the internet.

The International Cat Day was established in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) to create awareness about the plight of cats around the globe and how they make this world a better place. Abyssinian: Also known as Felis Catus, this cat breed is loving, affectionate and extremely to take care of. These are short-haired cats with a tabby coat, in which individual hairs are banded with different colours.

Ragdoll: Known to be the cutest and most adorable, these cats have distinctive colour print coats and blue eyes. They cost more than any other cat species just because of their desirable traits.

Sphynx: Also known as Canadian Sphynx, this cat breed is known for its lack of fur. They have defined cheekbones and are loyal, easy going and great with other pets.
