Kamika Ekadashi 2023: The special occasion of Kamika Ekadashi is one of the significant festivals of the Hindu community that is observed with utmost dedication and devotion across the country. From the total of 24 Ekadashis that fall in a year, Kamika Ekadashi holds immense significance in Hindu religious beliefs.
Kamika Ekadashi 2023: Shubh Muhurat
The pious occasion of Kamika Ekadashi is being observed on July 13 across the country. According to Drik Panchnag, the Ekadashi tithi began at 02:29 PM on July 12 and will end at 02:54 PM on July 13. Parana means breaking the fast. Ekadashi Parana is done after sunrise on the next day of the Ekadashi fast. It is necessary to do Parana within Dwadashi Tithi unless Dwadashi is over before sunrise. Not doing Parana within Dwadashi is similar to an offense.

Kamika Ekadashi 2023: Significance
Ekadashi is the eleventh lunar day of the Vedic Hindu calendar and falls twice on each of the lunar phases. Kamika Ekadashi is falling in the auspicious month of Sawan 2023, which is observed to worship Lord Shiva to seek his blessings for a healthy and prosperous life. As Kamika Ekadashi is falling in the Shravan Maas, it is touted as utmost special and auspicious.
The importance of Ekadashi is mentioned in the Bhagwant Gita. Fasting on Kamika Ekadashi is considered holy similar to taking a dip in the river Ganges in Kashi, Naimisharanay and Pushkar, which helps in getting rid of all the sins.
Kamika Ekadashi 2023: Puja Rituals
Kamika Ekadashi is a three-day fast in which one day before the devotees only consume lunch. On the day of Ekadashi, devotees observe a strict fast and break the fast the next day after sunrise. On the day of fasting, devotees should wake up early, clean their homes, take a bath and wear clean clothes. Offer fresh flowers, fruits and Tulsi leaves to Lord Vishnu and chant the holy mantras. Recite the story of Kamika Ekadashi along with Vishnu Sahastranama. Offer bhog to the deity and conclude the puja by seeking the blessing of Lord Vishnu.
