Momos Easy Recipe: Who doesn’t love Momos? Every other street corner has a momos stall with a huge crowd near it. Nowadays, momos is another love language that people share. It is one of the most loved street foods and is relished by millions across the country. Not only youngsters, but older generations also love eating momos. The blend of soft and hot momos along with spicy chutney soothes the taste buds. There is no way that anyone passes by a momos stall without eating a plate, this is the craze of momos.

But some people worry about the hygiene and cleanliness in which momos are made. Well, with thousands of videos making rounds on the internet, this is surely a cause for worry. We have seen numerous videos of rats running around momos, which raises the question of hygiene. So, why not make momos at home and enjoy it with family? Worry not, the recipe is extremely simple. Here we have brought you one of the simplest 5-step recipes for making steamed momos in the comfort of your home.

Steamed Momos Recipe

Ingredients for Dough:

  • 3/4 cup All Purpose Flour (Maida)
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • Salt to taste

Ingredients For Stuffing:

  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 3-4 cloves of Garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped Ginger
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped Carrot
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped Cabbage
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped Capsicum
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped Green French Beans
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped Green Onion or Onion
  • ½-1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Chilli Sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper Powder
  • Salt to taste

Recipe:

Step 1: Take some vegetables, chop them finely and keep them aside. Add ¾ cup of maida and one cup teaspoon oil in a large bowl. Now, mix all the ingredients to prepare a soft dough. Cover the dough and keep it aside for about 20-25 minutes. Now take a pan and heat it on a gas stove. Add chopped vegetables and stir-fry them. Add salt and pepper and saute until they turn a little brownish. Add chilli sauce and soy sauce for taste. Mix well and turn off the gas.

Step 2: Knead the dough once again for a minute and make small round balls out of it. Place the round ball on a pressing board, roll it from the sides, and keep the centre portion a little thick compared to the sides.

Step 3: Place a tablespoon of vegetable filling onto the flattened dough. Now, lift its edge from one side and start pleating. Join them at the centre to seal it. Prepare momos in a similar way to the rest of the dough.

Step 4: Now, grease a steaming plate with oil to prevent sticking. Arrange momos on the steaming plate and steam the momos for about 6-7 minutes over medium flame.

Step 5: Transfer the momos to a serving plate and serve with spicy momos chutney.
