What Should Not Be Eaten On Mahashivratri 2026?

On Mahashivratri 2026, devotees should not eat tamasic food products. Eating non-vegetarian food and heavy meals is prohibited on that day. Onion and garlic should not be consumed during the Shivaratri fast. Also, avoid consuming regular salt during the fast and use rock salt instead. Pregnant women, children, the sick, and the elderly should avoid observing the Shivaratri fast.
