As per religious beliefs, the Sutak period begins 12 hours before solar eclipse and it lasts until the conclusion of the eclipse. At the time of eclipse, the doors of temples are shut and worship is stopped. On salvation, which is after the eclipse gets over, the doors are opened and worship begins.
