Discipline Is A Must
Soman recalled his fitness journey and stated that he first took on the Ironman triathlon challenge at the age of 50. To him, it was a test of extreme endurance that combines swimming, cycling, and running. He mentioned that the experience fortified his belief that with the right mindset, the human body can achieve everything. The foundation of his fitness relied on simple habits like staying active, eating wholesome food and maintaining a positive attitude.
The actor also mentioned that true age is determined not by body but by an individual’s state of mind. Soman believes a youthful spirit comes from curiosity, gratitude, and purpose.

Eating Right Is A Boost To Fitness
Speaking to Pinkvilla earlier, Soman stated that his diet is uncomplicated and nourishing. His mornings usually start with fruits such as papaya, watermelon or bananas and sometimes it is followed by a small bowl of muesli and dry fruits.
For lunch and dinner, the simplicity of the meal lies in dal, rice and vegetables. He prefers vegetarian meals and avoids eating non-veg as they are harder to digest. When craving sweets, he opts for jaggery instead of refined sugar. Soman’s favourite cuisines are Maharashtrian, Bengali, Assamese and Japanese.
Minimalist Workout Routine And Personal Life
Soman has mentioned that he is not a regular gym goer. “I have never been to the gym in my life,” he said. His workout routine is simple and minimalist, centred around planks, push-ups, and burpees. According to him, fitness doesn’t require fancy equipment; it requires consistency and awareness.
