World Toilet Day is a global initiative that stresses the importance of the sanitation crisis globally. This day was designated by the United Nations (UN) to highlight the importance of toilets not just for hygiene but also as a sign of development. 

World Toilet Day serves as a reminder of the spread of diseases and infections due to dirty toilets and restrooms. Also, the lack of toilets across the world is the main concern of this global event and acts as a call for governments and related organisations. On a personal level, it is important to keep your toilets clean and hygienic to prevent related diseases. Here are some essential tips to maintain a clean and hygienic toilet.

Regular Cleaning

Use disinfectants like bleach or hydrogen peroxide to get rid of germs and viruses. These components aid in stain removal and germ-killing. Scrub the toilet bowl thoroughly, being mindful of places where bacteria might hide such as the region around the flush mechanism and behind the seat rim.

Proper Ventilation

Install one or just leave a window open to lower the humidity. This will reduce the conditions that allow mould and mildew to grow and assist keep the area dry.
