Most Expensive VIP Number Plate In India: The ‘DDC 0001’ VIP registration plate recently became India’s most expensive number plate after it was sold for Rs 2.08 crore in an event on January 30, 2026. The VIP registration plate was sold at an event organised by Big Boy Toyz, named the ‘Auction House’. Big Boy Toyz is a leading Indian retailer of pre-owned high-end luxury and exotic cars.
The Old And The New Owner
The ‘DDC 0001’ number plate was earlier owned by Jatin Ahuja, founder and MD (managing director) of Big Boy Toyz. Jatin Ahuja was using the number plate on his Maruti Suzuki Ignis, which makes it more interesting. The number plate was bought by Kiran Kolipakula of Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, after securing the bid of Rs 2.08 crore.

Is It India’s Most Expensive Number Plate?
The auction of the DDC 0001 number plate surpassed all previous records for the sale of a VIP vehicle registration plate. Last year, another number plate, the HR 88B 8888, widely gathered significant media attention after a person made a bid for Rs 1.17 crore. However, the bidder failed to make payment, and the HR 88B 8888 plate was then sold for Rs 26.7 lakh. Therefore, the DDC 0001 has become India’s most expensive number plate, as it has been sold for Rs 2.08 crore.
