Force Gurkha 5-Door Variant: Force Motors is gearing up to launch the new 5-door variant of their popular off-road SUV, Gurkha. Ahead of its official launch, the manufacturer has been teasing the upcoming SUV. Moreover, the Force Gurkha 5-door has also been spotted testing in various locations across the country. Force Motors has shared another new teaser of the upcoming Gurkha 5-door. This new teaser reveals several enhancements when compared to its predecessor.
The Force Gurkha 5-door is anticipated to be launched in the Indian market by May 2024. Once it hits the market, the Gurkha 5-door will compete against rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door. Launch date of the Thar 5-door is also not known yet, but it is expected to be launched between June and August 2024.
Force Gurkha 5-Door - Design
Talking about its design, the teaser showcases design elements such as ring shaped circular LED lights with reflectors, vertically stacked LED tail lights, snorkel, roof rails on top, larger 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, alteration to the front and rear bumper and ‘Gurkha’ badging with chrome accents at the rear. The most significant additions are the two rear doors that have enhanced the accessibility and practicality of the Gurkha. Despite these changes, the overall exterior design is expected to remain largely consistent.
Force Gurkha 5-Door - Interior
Talking about the interior of the Gurkha 5-door, not a lot of information is known about the cabin of the off-road SUV. The new model is expected to have a familiar layout but with notable improvements in functionality. Manual controls are likely to be replaced with knobs. The upcoming Force Gurkha 5-door is likely to be offered with different seating options, including a 5-seater with two rows, a 6-seater with three rows and a 7-seater variant featuring individual captain seats in the third row. It is expected to feature a grey-themed interior with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and manual AC controls.
Force Gurkha 5-Door - Engine Specs
Talking about its powertrain, the Gurkha 5-door is expected to keep its current 2.6-litre diesel engine from Mercedes that is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. This engine is capable of generating a power output of 91 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.
Force Gurkha 5-Door - Price
While the specific pricing details have not been revealed, there's speculation that the Gurkha 5-door might be priced around Rs 2 lakh higher than its 3-door counterpart, which currently sells for Rs 15.10 lakhs (ex-showroom).
