In terms of exterior, the new Mahindra Thar OG comes packed with a redesigned grille at the front. The grille has an extended part that has Thar badging on it. Additionally, the Thar OG also features C-shaped LED DRLs, new LED fog lamps, a tailgate with Thar badging, and revised front and rear bumpers.

Mahindra Thar OG: New Platform

The new Mahindra Thar OG uses the new M_Glyde 4G platform that debuted with the Mahindra Thar Roxx. The brand shared that the new platform provides enhanced stiffness compared to before and enhances on-road and off-road performance.

Mahindra Thar OG: New Suspension & Dampers

The Mahindra Thar OG features new Penta-link suspension at the rear, with Watts Link. It is the same suspension used by the brand’s other popular SUVs such as the Mahindra Thar Roxx and Mahindra Scorpio N. Additionally, the new Thar OG features the DAVINCI Dampers system that uses Frequency Dependent Damping (FDD). The system automatically varies its damping depending on the suspension’s movement.

Mahindra Thar OG: Locking Differential

The new Mahindra Thar OG also features upgraded off-road tech. It comes equipped with an electronically assisted locking differential, whereas the Thar 3-door unit used to feature a mechanical unit.

The new Mahindra Thar OG comes equipped with the same engine options as before. However, the engine units are now more powerful, and they generate more power and torque than before. The 1.5-litre diesel engine is exclusively available with a 6-speed Manual Transmission, and it generates 119 hp and 300 Nm of torque. The 2.2-litre diesel engine is now more powerful and produces 152 hp and 330 Nm of torque, respectively, and the 2-litre turbo petrol engine is more powerful, and it can now generate a peak power and torque output of 162 hp and 330 Nm, respectively.
