To address the long-standing problem of traffic congestion in the Dhansoi market area, the construction process for the proposed Greenfield bypass has been accelerated. On Wednesday, District Magistrate Sahila, along with Sub-Divisional Officer Avinash Kumar, administrative officials, and engineers, inspected the site of the proposed bypass.
The inspection began around 200 metres south of the Chirayantad turn, where the bypass is planned to connect with the Dhansoi-Dinara main road. During the visit, officials assessed the proposed alignment, road width, land availability, possible obstructions, and other technical aspects. The District Magistrate issued necessary directions to the concerned departments and stressed the importance of completing the project within the stipulated timeline.
The bypass will be developed as a two-lane Greenfield project, aimed primarily at diverting heavy vehicles away from the congested Dhansoi market. Once completed, it is expected to improve connectivity between the Buxar and Rohtas districts, making travel safer, faster, and more efficient while also reducing fuel consumption.
According to official sources, administrative approval has been granted for the construction of the approximately 4.5-kilometre-long bypass at an estimated cost of Rs 9,824.90 lakh (around Rs 98 crore). Local residents have welcomed the move, expressing hope that the project will bring relief from daily traffic jams and contribute to the region’s economic and social development.
