Bihar Election 2025 Live Updates: Amit Shah Meets CM Nitish Kumar As NDA Allies Unite Ahead Of Upcoming Polls

Union Home Minister Amit Shah met Bihar CM Nitish Kumar at the latter's residence in Patna as NDA allies BJP and JDU unite ahead of upcoming Bihar Election 2025.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday arrived at the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's residence as nomination for phase 1 of Bihar polls ends today. 

The Election Commission has called a meeting of a committee of heads of enforcement agencies and security forces on Friday to finalise its strategy to prevent inducement of voters in the Bihar Assembly elections.

Congress on late Thursday night released the first list of 48 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections even as the seat-sharing agreement is still pending in the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan alliance. In the first list, the grand old party has fielded its state unit chief Raja Ram from Kutumba. The shocking announcement comes from Bachhwara with the candidature of Prakash Garib Das as the seat was likely to go with ally CPI, who lost the seat by just 484 seats in 2020 elections. Prakash ended third on Congress ticket in 2020.

BJP national spokesperson Guru Prakash Paswan expressed his view on chances of Nitish Kumar becoming the CM again. He said, "You be assured, Nitish Kumar is our leader and he has absolute majority. He has a track record of good governance and development in Bihar."

On Bihar Elections 2025, BJP MP Ravi Kishan said, "Development is our identity. Our focus is on women's safety and employment of youth."

Bhojpuri singer, actor and RJD leader Khesari Lal Yadav said, "Now my responsibility has doubled. Now I will have to stay away from art for some time as I will try to give about 15 days a month to the people of Chapra, who want me to provide them better facilities..."

Prashant Kishor questioned the educational qualification of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and said, "Today, Samrat Choudhary's updated affidavit has been released to the public. Earlier, when Samrat Choudhary was asked when he passed Class 10, he said it could be read in the affidavit. Today, I was trying to read it, but nowhere does it say when he passed Class 10. He also claims to have done PFC (Pre-Foundation Course) from Kamaraj University... PFC is for those who speak Tamil... He has not yet clarified whether he passed Class 10 or not."

Former Lok Sabha MP and four-time MLA from Jokihat in Bihar, Sarfaraz Alam joined Jan Suraaj Party onThursday, hours after resigning from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

"He (Prashant Kishor) has a reason and vision and the potential to bring Bihar forward... I will contest on the basis of the party's decision," Sarfaraz Alam said, as per ANI.
