In a bid to enhance transparency and ensure the timely distribution of rations under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), the Bihar Food and Consumer Protection Department has announced a special verification campaign.
The initiative aims to rectify data of suspicious beneficiaries and achieve 100 per cent Aadhaar seeding (e-KYC) across the state.
Physical Verification Drive
According to departmental information, all Sub-Divisional Officers have been instructed to conduct physical verification in their respective areas in "campaign mode."
Dates: The drive will run from December 17 to December 30, 2025.
Objective: Officials will utilise the Ration Card Management System (RCMS Data) provided by the Government of India to resolve erroneous or suspicious entries.
Mandatory e-KYC For All Beneficiaries
During this campaign, authorities will ensure that the e-KYC process is completed for every eligible beneficiary covered under the NFSA.
Awareness: Instructions have been issued to disseminate information widely among cardholders to encourage maximum participation in the camps set up for e-KYC completion.
Target: The government aims to ensure that no eligible family is left out of the system while simultaneously enhancing reliability.

Removing The Ineligible
The department views this initiative as a critical step in identifying and removing ineligible beneficiaries from the Public Distribution System (PDS). By cleaning up the database, the state government intends to guarantee that resources are focused on providing facilities to genuine beneficiaries without fail.
