Bihar Police Recruitment: Patna Aspirants Protest, Demand Immediate Appointment For Sub-Inspector Posts
Aspirants staged a large protest in Patna on Monday, voicing their demands for swift action on Bihar Police recruitment.

Aspirants staged a large protest in Patna on Monday, voicing their demands for swift action on Bihar Police recruitment. Hundreds of young people took to the streets, carrying flags, and attempted to approach the Chief Minister’s residence, but were stopped by barricades at Dak Bunglow Chowk. Security around the residence was heightened during the demonstration.

The protestors' key demands include the prompt initiation of the recruitment process for Sub-Inspector (Daroga) posts in the Bihar Police, a long-standing demand on which no concrete action has been taken.

Along with this, Protesters showed concern that the Model Code of Conduct, expected to come into effect within the next ten days, could hinder the possibility of fresh recruitment, urging authorities to act swiftly.

A further demand raised was to ensure transparency in the Constable (Sipahi) recruitment examination. They allege that not providing the question paper, a carbon copy of the OMR sheet, and the answer key after the exam is an injustice to unemployed youth.

The protest gained further momentum with the participation of teachers and teacher leaders, who lent their support to the aspirants’ demands.

Recently, the Bihar Police Department issued a notification for 28 Sub-Inspector posts, with applications accepted from February 27 to March 27, 2025. However, aspirants are now pressing for the recruitment of a much larger number of posts, with recent discussions mentioning the possibility of 23,600 vacancies.
