Gaya Election Results 2025 LIVE: BJP's Prem Kumar Clinches 9th Victory In Gaya Town; JD(U)'s Manorma Devi Triumphs In Belaganj

In the Barachatti Assembly Constituency (No. 228) of Bihar, the counting concluded after 29 rounds. Jyoti Devi of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) won the seat, securing 108,271 votes with a lead of 8,893 votes.

In the Wazirganj Assembly Constituency (No. 234) of Bihar, the counting concluded after 26 rounds. Birendra Singh of BJP won the seat, securing 94,574 votes with a lead of 12,733 votes.

In the Tikari Assembly Constituency (No. 231) of Bihar, counting concluded after 30 rounds. RJD's Ajay Kumar won the seat, securing 97, 550 votes with a lead of 2058 votes.

In the Gurua Assembly Constituency (No. 225) of Bihar, counting concluded after 29 rounds. Upendra Prasad of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the seat, securing 99,758 votes with a lead of 24,194 votes.

In the Sherghati Assembly Constituency (No. 226) of Bihar, counting concluded after 24 rounds. Uday Kumar Singh of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) emerged victorious, securing 77,270 votes with a lead of 13,524 votes.

Union Minister Chirag Paswan has commented on the NDA’s strong performance in the Bihar Election 2025, describing it as a decisive verdict that has ended misconceptions propagated by the opposition, including the SIR issue and allegations of “vote-chori.” Paswan criticised Rahul Gandhi for making personal remarks against the Prime Minister, noting that such indecent language only backfired. He added that Biharis, known for their courtesy, responded to the opposition’s approach with a mandate that ultimately harmed those who resorted to negativity and personal attacks.

In the Imamganj Assembly Constituency (No. 227) of Bihar, counting concluded after 29 rounds. Deepa Kumari of the Hindustani Awam Morcha emerged victorious, securing 1,04,861 votes, with a lead of 25,856 votes.

In the Bodh Gaya Assembly Constituency (No. 229) in Bihar, Kumar Sarvjeet of the Rashtriya Janata Dal has won the election. As of the final round (Round 26/26), he secured 1,00,236 votes, gaining 881 votes in this round to claim victory.

In the Belaganj Assembly Constituency (No. 232) in Bihar, Manorma Devi of the Janata Dal (United) has won the election. As of the final round (Round 24/24), she secured 95,685 votes, gaining 2,882 votes in this round to claim victory.

As of Round 23 out of 24 in the Belaganj Assembly Constituency (No. 232) in Bihar, Manorma Devi of the Janata Dal (United) is leading with 95,513 votes, gaining 3,184 votes in this round. Trailing closely is Vishvanath Kumar Singh of the Rashtriya Janata Dal with 92,329 votes, down by 3,184 votes. 

As of Round 20 out of 25 in the Wazirganj Assembly Constituency (No. 234) in Bihar, Birendra Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party is leading with 77,888 votes, gaining 13,613 votes in this round. Trailing behind is Awadhesh Kumar Singh of the Indian National Congress with 64,275 votes, down by 13,613 votes. The contest remains closely watched as counting progresses.

In the Gaya Town Assembly Constituency (No. 230) in Bihar, the counting of votes has concluded with Round 19 out of 19. Prem Kumar of the Bharatiya Janata Party wins with 90,878 votes, having gained 26,423 votes in the final round. His significant lead indicates a strong performance for the BJP in the constituency as the counting comes to an end.

As the NDA crossed the majority mark in Bihar, State Minister Ashok Chaudhary expressed his gratitude to the voters, saying, “We were expecting more than 170-175 seats. I think we have got more than a two-thirds majority. I thank the voters of Bihar.” Meanwhile, Prashant Kishor, founder of Jan Suraaj, took a critical stance, remarking, “The media should go and ask him questions. He was giving it in writing that JD(U) will not get more than 25 seats. You should ask him what he will do now?” The contrasting reactions highlight the celebratory mood within the NDA and the skepticism from opposition strategists following the election results.

In the Gaya Town Assembly Constituency (No. 230) in Bihar, as of Round 17 out of 19, Prem Kumar of the Bharatiya Janata Party is leading with 80,524 votes, gaining 20,316 votes in this round. Trailing behind is Akhaury Onkar Nath of the Indian National Congress, who has 60,208 votes, down by 20,316 votes in the same counting round. The contest shows a significant lead for Prem Kumar as the counting approaches its final stages.

On Bihar election results and NDA's majority, Minister Santosh Kumar said, "I congratulate the people of Bihar on the formation of the new government. Bihar will continue to progress under PM Modi’s leadership and keep developing. We now face fresh challenges in fulfilling the expectations of the people who have given us this mandate. There is no doubt that Nitish Kumar will be the Chief Minister and will soon take the oath. The RJD’s statements are nothing new, their aggression is evident in their words..."

In Barachatti Assembly Constituency (No. 228), as of Round 11 out of 26, Jyoti Devi of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) is leading with 44,302 votes, gaining 791 votes in this round. Trailing closely is Tanushree Kumari of the Rashtriya Janata Dal with 43,511 votes, down by 791 votes. The contest remains extremely tight, with both candidates nearly neck and neck.

In Tikari Assembly Constituency (No. 231), as of Round 12 out of 30, Ajay Kumar of the Rashtriya Janata Dal is leading with 44,908 votes, gaining 9,693 votes in this round. Trailing is Anil Kumar of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) with 35,215 votes, down by 9,693 votes. The counting shows a solid lead for Ajay Kumar at this stage.

In Gaya Town Assembly Constituency, as of Round 12 out of 19, Prem Kumar of the Bharatiya Janata Party is leading with 55,772 votes, gaining 11,205 votes in this round. Trailing is Akhaury Onkar Nath of the Indian National Congress with 44,567 votes, down by 11,205 votes. Prem Kumar maintains a clear lead as counting progresses.

In Bodh Gaya, as of Round 21 out of 26, Shyamdeo Paswan of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is leading with 83,492 votes, gaining 7,481 votes in this round. Trailing closely is Kumar Sarvjeet of the Rashtriya Janata Dal with 76,011 votes, down by 7,481 votes. The contest remains competitive as the counting approaches the final rounds.

In Barachatti, the latest trends show Jyoti Devi of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) leading with 29,546 votes, a gain of 361 votes. Trailing closely is Tanushree Kumari of the Rashtriya Janata Dal with 29,185 votes, down by 361 votes. The contest is highly competitive, with both candidates almost neck and neck.

Supporters of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar gathered outside the JD(U) office in Patna to celebrate as the NDA crossed the majority mark. JD(U) leader Chotu Singh said, “We congratulate Nitish Kumar. The people of Bihar have made him victorious. We will celebrate Holi and Diwali here.” According to the latest trends, the NDA is leading on 185 seats, with JD(U) ahead on 76, BJP on 83, LJP(RV) on 22, and HAMS on 4, while counting of votes is still underway.

The Sherghati Assembly constituency is witnessing a contest between RJD candidate Pramod Kumar Verma and NDA (LJP-R) nominee Uday Kumar Singh, while Jan Suraaj Party candidate Pawan Kumar is attempting to turn it into a triangular fight. Migration and unemployment remain the key issues influencing voters in the region.

The Imamganj Assembly constituency (227) is seeing a closely fought contest between NDA (HAM) candidate Deepa Kumari, the outgoing MLA and daughter-in-law of Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, and RJD’s Ritu Priya Chaudhary. Migration and unemployment remain the key issues shaping voter sentiment in the region.

The counting of votes is underway in Gaya Town, and as per the latest data, BJP’s Prem Kumar is leading with 19,973 votes. Akhaury Onkar Nath of the Congress is in second place with 14,054 votes.

Ajay Kumar of the Rashtriya Janata Dal is leading in Tikari with 11,662 votes, holding a margin of 4,334 votes. Anil Kumar of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) is trailing with 7,328 votes, reflecting the same deficit in the latest trends.

The Barachatti Assembly constituency (228) is witnessing a contest between the NDA (HAM) candidate Jyoti Devi, the outgoing MLA and sister-in-law of Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, and RJD candidate Tanushree Kumari.

Shyamdeo Paswan of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is leading from the Bodh Gaya Assembly seat with 22,941 votes, holding a strong margin of 6,323 votes. RJD candidate Kumar Sarvjeet is trailing with 16,618 votes, reflecting the same deficit in the latest trends.

The Bodhgaya Assembly seat is witnessing a close contest between NDA (LJP-R) candidate Shyamdev Paswan and RJD candidate Dr. Kumar Sarvjeet, a former minister. Key issues shaping the voters’ mood in the constituency include development, migration, and access to quality education.

Prem Kumar of the Bharatiya Janata Party is leading with 5,493 votes, holding a strong margin of 2,401 votes. Akhaury Onkar Nath of the Indian National Congress is trailing with 3,092 votes, reflecting the same deficit in the early trends.

The BJP is currently ahead on 52 seats, closely followed by the RJD with leads in 51 constituencies. The JD(U) has taken the lead in 42 seats, while the Congress is ahead in six. Overall, the NDA is leading in 95 seats, whereas the Mahagathbandhan holds an edge in 58 seats as per the latest trends.

Postal ballots are counted separately before the EVM votes. On counting day, the postal department delivers all ballots to the designated counting centres, where election officials verify each one for validity. Because these ballots are counted first, they often shape the early lead trends seen on television, and the final voter turnout is calculated only after adding all valid postal ballots.

The Election Commission of India has begun releasing the first set of early trends, showing the BJP leading on five seats. As per the initial data, the party is ahead in Sahebganj, Baruraj, Aurai, Rajnagar and Kumhrar. These figures are expected to evolve as counting progresses.

Postal ballots, also known as mail-in ballots, allow eligible voters to cast their vote without visiting a polling booth. This option is available to those unable to be physically present in their home constituency due to government or defence postings, health limitations, disabilities, or engagement in essential services on polling day. Over the past decade, the Election Commission of India has expanded the system to include electronically transmitted postal ballots for certain categories of voters.

Counting of votes has begun in Bihar’s Gaya Town, with initial trends indicating that BJP’s Prem Kumar is currently in the lead.

Gaya Ji DM Shashank Shubhankar said, "All the preparations have been made. There is a complete ban on victory rallies, as the model code of conduct remains in place. There is no issue anywhere. We have sufficient force. Everything is being done in a transparent manner."

Ahead of the counting of votes for the Bihar Assembly Election 2025, RJD leader Vishwanath Kumar Singh expressed optimism, stating that there is widespread support and a strong desire for change in the state, adding that the formation of Tejashwi Yadav’s government is imminent.

The counting of votes for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 has begun, determining the fate of candidates in all 243 constituencies across 38 districts of the state. Simultaneously, counting has also started for Assembly by-elections in eight constituencies across six states and one Union Territory.

Gaya is world-renowned for its religious and historical significance. It is a sacred site for Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains. The epics Ramayana and Mahabharata mention Gaya. It is believed that Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, and Lakshmana visited Gaya to perform Pind Daan for their father, King Dasharatha.

The Gaya district encompasses 10 Assembly constituencies, which fall under the Gaya region. These are Bodh Gaya (SC), Gaya Town, Tikari, Belaganj, Atri, Wazirganj, Rajauli (SC), Sherghati, Imamganj (SC), and Barachatti (SC).

Voting in the Gaya district was held on November 11 during Phase 2 of the Bihar elections 2025. Gaya Ji is a major city in Bihar and serves as the administrative centre of both the Gaya district and the Magadh division. Located approximately 116 kilometres south of Patna, it is the second-largest city in the state.
