As the election season heats up in Bihar, the political discourse has become increasingly charged, with parties and leaders engaging in direct accusations and counter-accusations.

The slogan wars have intensified. While the opposition, including Rahul Gandhi, has previously used the slogan "vote thief," the ruling JDU has now coined the term "credit thief" specifically for Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav.

Tejashwi (RJD) has been consistently claiming that recent populist government decisions—such as increasing honorariums, raising social security pensions, and implementing a domicile policy for state jobs—are all part of his vision from when he was Deputy Chief Minister in the Nitish Kumar government. He is taking credit for these policies and accusing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of copying his ideas from the RJD's manifesto.

In response, JDU leaders are arguing that the work was done by Nitish Kumar, and Tejashwi Yadav is simply trying to steal the credit.

Another major point of conflict is the support of the Extremely Backward Class (EBC) community. The Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) recently issued a resolution in their favor, drawing a sharp response from the NDA.

The JDU maintains that it was under Nitish Kumar's tenure that the EBC community was truly empowered with beneficial schemes. The NDA argues that during the long rule of Congress and the subsequent 15-year RJD government, nothing was done for the EBCs, not even the formation of a commission to address their needs.

Personal Allegations Intensify

The political sparring has also turned personal. Jan Suraaj leader Prashant Kishor has accused JDU's National General Secretary and minister, Ashok Choudhary, of illegally amassing assets worth Rs 200 crore. Choudhary has dismissed the allegations as "baseless statements" and has filed a defamation claim in response.

Prashant Kishor has reportedly made similar allegations against BJP leader Sanjay Jaiswal. This trend of direct, personal accusations, separate from party policies, is expected to continue as the election approaches.
