Aadhaar service centres are set to be reopened in schools across Patna that were previously closed. Following instructions from the Bihar Education Project Council, the District Education Office is identifying two schools in each block to open Aadhaar service centres.

The centres will be opened exclusively in government schools, easing parents to get their children's cards made there. Aadhaar cards will be made for children enrolled in both government and private schools. These Aadhaar centres will open before the new academic session begins.

The District Education Office has directed Block Education Officers to submit the names of schools where the Aadhaar service centres can be opened. The schools will be equipped with adequate facilities, such as electricity and rooms, for the operation of the Aadhaar centres.

An agency will be selected within one month. Within 60 days of the agency's selection, the process to launch the Aadhaar centres with the Unique Identification Authority of India will be completed.

Previously, two Aadhaar service centres were opened in schools in each block of the district, but they were shut down due to non-payment to the operating agency. The Education Department had also received complaints that operators at the centres were charging a fee for making Aadhaar cards. As a result, the decision was made to close the centres.
