Bihar’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption is yielding record results, with 16 corrupt public servants convicted by courts in the first seven months of 2025, Vigilance Investigation Director General Jitendra Singh Gangwar said on Tuesday.
Speaking at a felicitation-cum-workshop at the Bureau’s office, Gangwar credited the achievement to the coordinated efforts of vigilance officers, complainants, and public prosecutors. He noted that 12 convictions were secured between January and June alone, with five months remaining in the year.

The event honoured complainants, vigilance officials who caught accused officials red-handed with bribe money, investigators, verifiers, and members of the probe teams. Gangwar also announced that retired vigilance officers appearing as witnesses in court will receive a two-day daily allowance and travel allowance.
He added that the convictions were possible only through seamless coordination between all stakeholders involved in the investigation and prosecution.
Inspector General of Police (Vigilance) Garima Mallick, DIG Navin Kumar Jha, Mrityunjay Kumar Choudhary, and other senior officers were present at the programme.
