As the residents celebrate Dhanteras ahead of Diwali, the Gold prices are at an all-time high. The prices of the precious metal reached a historic high at the start of October.

As of Friday, October 17, the prices have shown an upward trend with varying prices for different carats, ranging from the purest form of yellow metal, 24K to 18K gold.

Jewellers Predict 15 % Dip In Demand Due To High Price

The Managing Director and chief executive of Senco Gold and Diamonds, Suvankar Sen, said that the high prices of gold will affect sale volumes by approximately 12-15 per cent. But in terms of value, there can be a growth of 20-25 per cent during the time of Dhanteras. Former chairman of GJC, Saiyam Mehra also supported Sen's prediction that 10 per cent decline in volume-wise sale of gold jewellery.
