NPS Withdrawl Rule:  The National Pension System (NPS) is a well-known and secure instrument for receiving pension advantages after retirement. Depositors receive a monthly pension once they have reached maturity. Meanwhile, an accountholder may also make a partial withdrawal if necessary. The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) oversees the NPS and in February 2024, PFRDA amended NPS withdrawal regulations. NPS Partial Withdrawal Rules

According to the PFRDA notification, withdrawals can be made after three years of opening an NPS account. The regulations for partial withdrawal from the NPS account were revised this February. According to the new regulations, you can no longer withdraw more than 25% of the money from your NPS account. For example, if you opened an NPS account in 2020, you can make a partial withdrawal in 2024. If you have invested Rs 1 lakh in NPS, you can only withdraw Rs 25,000.

When can you withdraw money?

An investor can make a partial withdrawal under certain circumstances, according to the National Pension System's regulations.

- Money may be withdrawn from the NPS account in an emergency, such as a medical emergency.

- Even if an investor wants to start a company or a startup, he or she may withdraw money from the NPS account for financial assistance.

- Money can be withdrawn from an NPS account for expenses like skill development.

- In case of an Accident, a partial withdrawal can be claimed.

What are the requirements for partial withdrawal?

The NPS account must be at least three years old.

You can only withdraw 25% of the total amount from the account.

You can only make three partial withdrawals before maturity.

How to withdraw money from an NPS account?

you must submit a withdrawal application to withdraw money from your NPS account.

You must explain why you are withdrawing money from the account.

You must also submit the relevant papers with your application.

The money will be returned to your bank account within a few days after the withdrawal request has been approved.
