After deciding to stage the Big Bash League opener in Chennai later this year, Cricket Australia (CA) is now open to the possibility of hosting an Ashes Test in India in the future.

However, CA chief executive Todd Greenberg made it clear that there are no immediate plans for such a move. Australia is set to host the Big Bash League opener in Chennai in December.

Greenberg also admitted that fitting such an idea into the international cricket calendar would not be easy, as it would need careful planning between all three boards.

England are scheduled to host the next Ashes series next year.
